National Service Scheme (NSS)
The college National Service Scheme (NSS) unit provides chance to students to participate as NSS volunteers in social service by organizing camps in rural and urban areas. It deputes them under selected welfare agencies to involve in nation building and social activities like Literacy Drive (Eradication of illiteracy), minor irrigation works, sanitation, laying of roads in the villages, Rural Cooperative Savings drive, AIDS - awareness programme etc., Blood-donation camps are organized to pool in life-saving blood.
National Service Scheme is a unit which provides a platform to serve the society with charitable feelings. The college NSS unit, headed by a co-ordinator, provides such a golden opportunity that students can participate in variety of programmes as NSS volunteers. The unit is responsible for organizing camps in rural and urban areas. Its activities are very wide in range, meeting with all sets of people who are in need of help. These are deputed under selected welfare agencies to involve themselves as volunteers in nation building and social activities such as Literacy Drive, irrigation works, sanitation, roads, savings drive, blood-donation camps, AIDS awareness programmes etc.
